Research Summary:

Neuronal cells have a specialized morphology, key to their functioning. Morphological aberrations are hallmarks of many disorders of the nervous system and contribute to its malfunctioning. My group focuses on the identification and functional characterization of the molecular and cellular mechanisms governing neuronal morphology. This basic aspect of my research, spanning diverse pathways and family of molecules, is followed and complemented by exploration of the translational relevance of the findings in the context of different disorders of the nervous system.
